Many times people contact me to say that they have very short or badly bitten nails, and ask if there is anything I can do?
I've uploaded a few before and after pictures, we'll let the results speak for themselves!
(Please also see the damaged nails gallery in the section above this one).
Backscratchers Acrylics are an ideal way to help nail biters break the habit of biting or chewing nails as most people do not attempt to bite or chew hard acrylic.
They require no scribing or scoring of the natural nail nor do they require any harmful primers or bonders. They will adhere to the natural nail without these desctructive methods used by many
other systems. Even very short and bitten nails!
I generally advise to have nails made very short until there is noticeable improvement in the length of the natural nail plate... this is partly to provide a more natural look, and also partly as the
shorter the extension, the less stress and leverage there is on the natural nail, and this gives the new nails a fighting chance of staying on longer/permenantly.
Every case is different, enhancements on very severely bitten nails will not last as long as on strong and healthy nails so you may have to visit for maintainance more often to begin with until your
own nails begin to grow longer underneath.
If you are unsure, or looking for advice, please feel free to contact me to arrange an appointment or a free consultation to discuss what can be done.
